Press release from the Estonian Government Communication Unit
On Thursday, 6 November, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal will host Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at the Statehood House. They will discuss support for Ukraine, regional security, and bilateral cooperation, followed by a joint press conference.
“Estonia and Sweden share a long history,” said Prime Minister Michal. “It is symbolic that this visit takes place on the Memorial Day of Gustav II Adolf, after whom one of Tallinn’s most renowned schools is named, which Prime Minister Kristersson will also visit. A strong Swedish economy benefits Estonia as well.” He added that both countries share responsibility for supporting Ukraine and ensuring security in the Baltic Sea region. “We are working together to restrict Russia’s shadow fleet – a source of funding for Putin’s war crimes and a ticking environmental time bomb,” Michal said.
During his visit, Prime Minister Kristersson will also visit Gustav Adolf Gymnasium and join a business roundtable organized by the Swedish Embassy. More details are available from the Swedish Embassy in Tallinn: Liina Ludvig, Promotion and Communication Officer, +372 5855 8177.
