Printouts of the Estonian Population Register (vital statistics certificate-extract)

The consul may issue an extract-certificate of birth, death, marriage, divorce and name change from the Estonian Population Register. Certificates of vital statistic events can be issued only for the events registered in the Estonian Population Register.

Before applying for the extract-certificate, please contact the Swedish authority the document will be presented to and specify the data required by them.

  • In order to apply for a vital statistics certificate, please present an application together with a copy of your passport or ID-card and proof of payment of state fee to the Embassy either personally or via mail.
  • In order to apply for an extract of general data from Population register, please present an application together with a copy of your passport or ID-card and proof of payment of state fee to the Embassy either personally or via mail.

NB! The extract from the Estonian Population Register can be issued for the applicant themselves, their minor children and individuals under their guardianship.

  • In order to apply for a marriage non-impediment certificate, please present an application together with a copy of your passport or ID-card and proof of payment of state fee either personally or via mail.

Criminal record check

In order to get a notice from the Criminal Records Database an applicant must make a query to the database first.

The Criminal Records Database issues the notices from the database only in Estonian. Based on the notice from the Criminal Record Database, consul can issue a consul’s certificate in English.

Please note that in order to submit an application at the Embassy you must register in advance online.
